And now, my son Helaman, I command you that ye take the records which have been entrusted with me;

And now I will speak to you about those twenty-four plates. Keep them, so that the mysteries, the works of darkness, and their secret works, that is, the secret works of those people who were destroyed, may be made known to this nation; yes, so that all their murders, robberies, plunderings, wickedness, and abominations may be made known to this nation. And now, my son, these interpreters were prepared that the word of God might be fulfilled, which he spake, saying:
