- 1Four verses. Moroni thought he had finished, but he is still alive — wandering, refusing to deny Christ — so he writes a little more.
- 2The words Christ spoke to the twelve when he laid his hands on them and gave them power to confer the Holy Ghost. The crowd did not hear it.
- 3The exact words used to ordain priests and teachers, after prayer and the laying on of hands, according to God's gifts and callings.
- 4The sacrament prayer over the bread, word for word, as the elders and priests of the church administered it.
- 5Two verses: the prayer said over the wine, as the church administered it in remembrance of the blood shed for them.
